In between the hustle and bustle this holiday season don’t forget to take a step back and spend some quality time with the one you love. The memories we tend to cherish the most are the moments we have created together. Ones we may not even realize we are making in the moment, but we can look back on in 5, 10, 15 years and your heart fills with warmth.
Here at Maple Cove, you can feel like you have escaped the world together, but are still close enough to enjoy some celebrations. Choose from one of our three suites all tucked away in their own corners of the house, each having their own private sitting room, where you can have time to reconnect and spark the joy of this season. Later, if you’re up for a little more holiday spirit, head downtown to Rochester where they have a variety of holiday events to enjoy. Below I have listed just a few of those events, so grab your loved one, come out for a weekend and get back to what matters most!
The Big, Bright Light Show
Every night from 5pm till midnight the shops and restaurants of Downtown Rochester off Main Street are blanketed with more than one million lights. Running till January 5th, 2020, it’s truly a sight to see!
Caroling in the City!
On December 15th from 5pm till 8pm they “transform Downtown Rochester into Whoville”! With contests, cookie stations, choirs and yes of course carolers you can dive right into the holiday spirit. They even end the night caroling around the Christmas Tree, how cute is that!
Kris Kringle Market
Inspired by the 700-year-old tradition of open-air Christmas markets throughout Europe, on December 6th and 7th, W. 4th Street in Rochester is filled with shopping, specialty foods, hand-crafted gifts and holiday greens and wreaths.
Meadow Brook Hall Holiday Walk
Looking for something a little more elegant? Head over to Meadow Brook Hall and take one of the few holiday tours they have to offer. With over 50 trees, a 10-foot Poinsettia Tree, and lights galore you are sure to be dazzled!
