Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future.
As many of you know, Maple Cove has always been more than a bed and breakfast — it’s been a gathering place, a quiet retreat, and a little piece of our heart. The Main House has held countless stories: brides and their laughter as they got ready for their wedding day, anniversaries celebrated over glasses of bubbly, and quiet mornings where guests lingered over coffee, watching the light pour across the gardens.
After much thought (and a few tears, if I’m honest), Mark and I have decided that the Main House will retire at the end of 2025. It’s bittersweet, because I adore innkeeping — but with the addition of our farm animals (yes, three horses, two miniature donkeys, eight goats, and twenty very opinionated chickens 🐓), our days are beautifully full. Farm life brings us such joy, and I realized that the best way forward was to create a balance where we could still offer hospitality and savor this new season.
That’s where the August House comes in.
Starting January 1, 2026, the August House will be Maple Cove’s exclusive retreat. This charming two-bedroom cottage has its own entrance, a sunny sitting porch, cozy living spaces, a full kitchen, and a spa-inspired master bath. It’s perfect for longer, deeper stays — whether you’re sneaking away for a romantic weekend, planning a girlfriends’ getaway, or carving out time for writing, dreaming, or simply breathing.
Guests will enjoy flexible options: linger for three nights or more and take advantage of special weekly and monthly rates. Breakfast can be delivered to your door, or you can whip up something in your own kitchen (with maybe some fresh eggs courtesy of our hens). And while the setting is more intimate, the same heart-and-soul hospitality that defines Maple Cove will always be waiting here.
We may be turning the page, but the story continues — one of peace, privacy, and connection.
Mark and I are so grateful for every guest who has made the Main House more than just a house. You’ve filled it with laughter and life, and those memories will always be part of Maple Cove. We look forward to welcoming you into the August House and creating new memories together.
