Guest Policies

To begin with, we welcome you and we are excited to meet you and have just a few items that we need to go over.

Our goal is to provide a quiet relaxing atmosphere for guests to recharge from hectic lives. When deliberating on the environment we wished to create, we decided on a quiet getaway for adults 21 and older only.

Arrival:

Check-in times are from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm ( we are self-check in) if after 8:00, please just email me with your expected time. We do offer Early Check-in and Late Check out.

Departure:

Check-out time is 11:00 am.

Only registered guests are permitted at The August House.

Reservations:

Can be made via the website (www.maplecovebandb.com) or by calling or texting us at 248-274-4767.

When you make your reservations, a deposit of 1/2 the room cost will be required.

Damages:

Things happen, glasses break, we know this as we raised 4 beautiful children, have had a lifetime of pets and have the most beautiful of grand children. We are understanding and will be most polite about these types of accidents. Please help us keep The August House beautiful by following the "hints" that are listed in each room. Please notify us when an accident happens.

Cancellation Policy:

We require a 14-day notice of cancellation. We do understand that emergencies happen. If you have to cancel after less than 14 days before your check-in time, there will be a cancellation fee of 25% of the room fee.

If you have booked the August House for one week or more, the cancellation policy is 30 days prior to check-in. IF reservation is cancelled less than 30 days prior to scheduled arrival, deposit will be forfeited.

Refunds are put on the original card used to book the suite. No checks or money orders are issued. No exceptions.

As of 6/1/2020, there will be a $20 service charge for cancellations.

Cancellations are accepted by phone (248-274-4680) you may leave a message.

There will be a $20 reservation move charge.

If you do not show up for your stay, and there was no cancellation notification, I will charge the card for the cost of your booking.

Your Privacy and Ours:

You are welcome to use our Wi-Fi. All that information will be in the informational book. We have live streaming capabilities on all of our TVs.

We don't guarantee your internet privacy or connectivity. Use at your own risk.

We ask that you use your inside voices, refrain from shooting that one last game of pool or taking a dip in the pool after 11:00 p.m. It's a quiet setting; we intend to keep it that way.

We also ask that guests have no visitors at the B&B.

Only registered guests are allowed onsite.

What You Can Expect:

Your stay at The August House is a private retreat designed for rest and rejuvenation. You’ll enjoy exclusive use of the entire home, thoughtfully appointed for comfort and style, including:

  • A master bedroom with a luxurious king-size bed

  • A second bedroom with a queen-size bed

  • A spa-inspired bathroom featuring a two-person soaking tub, separate shower, and double-sink vanity

  • A half bathroom for added convenience

  • A laundry room with washer and dryer

  • A fully equipped kitchen and dining area

  • A comfortable family room centered around a three-sided fireplace

  • A quiet study with desk—ideal for reading or reflection

  • A front porch perfect for morning coffee or evening stargazing

Breakfast is optional and may be added as an upgrade, or you may choose to prepare your own meals at your leisure.

Guests also enjoy access to the pool and surrounding grounds (seasonally available).
Please note that The August House accommodates a maximum of four registered guests, and only those guests are permitted on the property.

Liability:

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees while acting in the course of their employment.

Last note:

We do have 2 dogs named Ophelia and Octavia. They are Bernedoodles. They are a welcome addition and will be the house's only pets. They stay on our side only, so the only contact you will have with them will be at your request. They are non-shedders as this breed is touted to be a "hypoallergenic" breed. They are very, very loving and playful, especially outside.
